Note: This Help describes the Help Viewer that is used to display help information in Windows applications. It should not be confused with the Help Viewer used by Microsoft Visual Studio. That is a completely different product. If you are reading this, then you are using the Help Viewer described here. However, if you use the Web to search for more help, you should be aware that there is another product from Microsoft with the same name.
By default, your Help Viewer will appear in a window with three panes:
The first pane is the toolbar, which is located below the help window title bar and above the other two panes.
Below the Toolbar on the left side of the window is the Navigation pane. It contains four navigational tabs: the Contents tab, the Index tab, the Search tab, and the Favorites tab. If the Navigation pane does not display, click the Show button on the Toolbar.
On the right side of the window is the Topic pane. It displays the selected help topic, or the default help topic.
